After reviewing the earlier research that I have done on architecture from 1950'd America, I realised that I was missing an important aspect to your average American street... SHOPS!!
with this in mind I started to look back through the imagery that I found through research and also designs that I have been given by ben as inspiration for my designs:
this was a design that I was given from ben at the beginning of the project for how he wanted the general look of the buildings to be. I really like both of these designs so I have used them for my template for my own initial building models:
As I felt that these designs were quite simple, I decided to add more detailed windows by adding some more detailed extrusions to give a better impression of what I am trying to convey but still in a way that looks simple and clean cut and most importantly fits to the design brief.
I particularly like the edition of the covered section of the right hand side building as I feel that brings some realism to the design and helps to give the building and interesting dimension to it that will stand out effectively when added to the rest of the completed scene.
